Magic Castle Tango Marathon in Książ, Poland

It is a meeting of people who will appreciate this place and bring new value to it – their emotions and their passion.

Magic place

In a faraway land, among blossoming gardens, there is a Castle widely acclaimed in the chronicles of Poland and Europe, famous for the mysteries of its chambers, walls and cellars.

The Castle itself and its location, one of the most charming in Poland, fascinated us with its architecture and landscape gardens.

It is here! We have been organizing the Magic Castle Tango Marathon since 2019. It’s always an amazing experience. Be with us this time as well.

Aliszja Ka (Wrocław)

My adventure with tango began during the holidays in beautiful picturesque Bergamo, where I saw couples dancing tango. There I fell in love with magical tango, which I combined with my second love – photography. I like to be close to the dancing couples, to feel emotions between the dancers, to capture their gestures and smiles and mysterious abrazos. The quote that Don Mccullin wrote about photography is dear to my heart: “Photography is not about looking, but about feeling. ” “Photographing means holding your breath, activating all our abilities in the face of fleeting reality”, as Henri Cartier-Bresson used to say. Photography allows me to express my sensitivity to the world and capture fleeting moments in the frame.

Ernest Winkowski

Ernest Winkowski

Passionate about tango and photography. Ernest has been dancing for over 20 years – first salsa, and since 2009 – tango. He says about his photography that it is his most devoted lover – abandoned many times for other interests, photography always comes back to him and accompanies him for many years. Ernest photographs as he dances – with heart and commitment.

I am a photographer who has been traveling through milongas, marathons, and tango festivals with my camera in my hand for years, trying to capture what is most important in tango – emotions. I have been the official photographer at 18 marathons and festivals and at countless milongas (seriously, I tried to count, but at some point I gave up). I pride myself on posting 60,000 photos on Facebook, as well as a few hundred films and rolls, all to the delight of the dancers and the despair of my hard drive. I have been photographing tango since 2018, and although I should have learned to dance like a professional a long time ago, I am still better at pressing the shutter button than in gancho. I come from Warsaw and you can find me both behind the lens and on the dance floor. I dance, take photos, and sometimes even talk. I love the emotions that arise in the embrace of tango – that moment when the world stops, the music leads, and I try to capture it all in one frame. Welcome to my world of tango seen through a lens!
